What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-08-27 21:00 UTC.

The day that just ended continued the story rather than reversing it. Crypto regulation still owns the headlines — the SEC custody rewrite and the Bank of England’s new stablecoin objective — and Nvidia’s sheer size remains the quiet worry underneath. On the technical side, oil’s bounce extended, USD/JPY kept its bullish lean, and BTC finished parked at the top of its range instead of breaking it.

The Asia window is light. Tokyo Core CPI (medium) and Japan’s unemployment rate are the local prints; from Europe there are German import prices, German unemployment change, French CPI/GDP flash reads, Spanish flash CPI and the KOF barometer — all low-tier, so the calendar is unlikely to do the heavy lifting.

What will do the heavy lifting is the squeeze board. USD/JPY is pinned between 159.36464 and 159.46225, gold is kissing 4,603.57 after holding above 4,587.98, oil is bouncing between 82.46 support and 83.16 resistance, and BTC is testing 79,951.7 with a short-term RSI divergence flashing caution. EUR/USD’s quieter squeeze between 1.16487 and 1.16585 rounds out the board. With data this thin, the coffee rule applies: keep levels close and let them do the talking.
