SESSION PREP · LONDON

What to watch in the London session

The London session (Europe open · the liquidity hour) · updated 2026-09-02 08:01 UTC.

The backdrop hasn’t flipped: US-Iran tensions have crude elevated, bond yields climbing, and Asian equities sold off into the session. The story we flagged yesterday is largely continuing — oil is still the bullish-clear leader, gold remains bearish-clear with H4 RSI at 26.6, and the euro still idles in its range. The visible shift is in the yen: USDJPY is down 0.35% over eight hours and camped just under resistance at 159.65670 rather than pressing it.

London’s window has no scheduled data between 08:00 and 12:00 UTC, so the tape owns the morning. That makes levels matter more than usual: EURUSD is neutral but squeezed between 1.15687 and 1.15789, GBPUSD leans bearish with H1 structure down, and for gold the only tested ceiling overhead is 4327.72 — a former floor — with no tested floor nearby. For oil, the H4 uptrend is intact, but today’s -0.65% eight-hour cooling argues against chasing strength.

Crypto stays compressed: Bitcoin neutral between 77033.9 and 77558.0, Ethereum bearish-leaning within 2406.6 to 2433.1. With no macro speaker scheduled, the chart is the only show in town.
