The US session (New York open · the afternoon drive) · updated 2026-09-03 12:00 UTC.
Global bond yields are still the story — the rout is deepening, Fed-hike chatter has Wall Street on edge, and oil has crept higher. The yen’s sharp reversal isn’t reversing: USDJPY has slipped another ~1% over the past eight hours to 156.181, leaving H4 RSI near 14 and H1 RSI around 10 — stretched by any measure.
The US window brings weekly jobless claims and the ISM services PMI as the live releases, with revised productivity, unit labor costs, the trade balance, final services PMI and natural gas storage filling out the docket. Three Fed speakers — Waller, Hammack and Goolsbee — follow. With bond desks this sensitive to rate-hike talk, their tone may matter more than the data. Canada’s productivity and trade balance round things out quietly.
On the gauge, oil holds the clearest tilt: bullish-leaning, up 1.34% in eight hours to 90.51, sitting right on the 90.54 resistance. Whether it breaks or gets turned away is the session’s cleanest line. Gold is neutral but firm near 4435.73, between 4417.28 support and 4441.73 resistance, with an RSI divergence warning. EURUSD is squeezed between 1.16061 and 1.16172 — a breakout is on the table, direction unknown. GBPUSD leans bearish under 1.35026; bitcoin and ether are both neutral, BTC above 77,552 support and ETH just below 2,408.6.
