SESSION PREP · LONDON

What to watch in the London session

The London session (Europe open · the liquidity hour) · updated 2026-09-04 08:03 UTC.

Good morning. Overnight headlines turned a shade more comfortable — Fed Governor Waller’s remarks cooled rate-hike chatter, bond yields eased and Wall Street closed sharply higher. The bigger shift belongs to USDJPY: after the slide to roughly 155.81, the pair has bounced to 156.33, up 0.44% on the eight-hour tape. So the near-term story has reversed for now, but the broader bearish lean hasn’t — EMA20 remains below EMA50, and H4 RSI at 29.8 still tilts lower.

The data calendar is light: Italian and euro-area retail sales plus UK construction PMI. The high-impact event is BOE Governor Bailey speaking, and cable is coiled — a 2-ATR 30-minute range has squeezed it between support at 1.35268 and resistance at 1.35389.

Once London begins, watch oil — H4/H1 uptrend intact, resistance at 89.79 overhead — and ether, the cleanest bull on the board (D1/H4/H1 up) under 2513.4. Bitcoin has cooled, down 0.75% over eight hours. Quiet calendar, twitchy charts.
