What to watch in the US session

The US session (New York open · the afternoon drive) · updated 2026-09-04 12:02 UTC.

Good morning. Risk appetite carried over from yesterday: bond yields eased further and Wall Street closed sharply higher, with Fed Governor Waller’s remarks keeping rate-hike bets at bay.

The calendar turns heavyweight. The US docket brings non-farm employment change, unemployment rate and average hourly earnings, while Canada offers employment change, the unemployment rate and Ivey PMI. Expect two-way traffic around the releases.

As a gauge heading in, ether remains the cleanest bull — D1/H4/H1 aligned up — pressing the 2526.8 ceiling. Bitcoin reversed its cooler tone, +0.53% on the eight-hour tape at 81226.0, testing 81299.8. Oil keeps its H4 uptrend, though softer momentum has pulled it back to 88.80, with 89.76 overhead. Cable stays coiled between 1.35271 and 1.35389, divergence caution flashing — the US jobs print may pick the direction. USDJPY continues yesterday’s story: the bounce off ~155.81 has stalled under 156.27117, with H4 RSI at 29.1 and EMA20 below EMA50. EURUSD and gold are the neutral ones; EUR is pinned just beneath 1.16223.
