SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-21 21:00 UTC.

Asia Session Prep — 21:00–08:00 UTC

The US session closed with crypto doing the heavy lifting: Bitcoin pushed past $85,000 and forced out $648 million of bearish bets, while the ECB opened its Pontes blockchain bridge to financial markets and the CFTC walked its crypto rulemaking to the White House. The dollar story from the London hours mostly held — EUR/USD and GBP/USD both carry BEARISH LEANING reads (H4 RSI 36.7 and 38.5), with no tested ceiling above and a floor far below, so price is stretched. USD/JPY is the outlier: BULLISH LEANING, H1 structure up, and boxed between 157.30871 support and 157.58029 resistance — similar room above and below, so the gauge says evenly balanced rather than directional.

Asia's calendar is thin but not empty: RBA Gov Bullock speaks (High) — the marquee item for the Aussie — with Japan on a bank holiday (JPY liquidity will be thinner than usual) and UK Public Sector Net Borrowing (Low) landing overnight.

What to watch as the session unfolds: does the dollar bid continue? If yes, EUR/USD's 1.14621 support and USD/JPY holding 157.30871 are the levels that matter. If it reverses, those stretched reads show it first. One caution — the tilt gauge has flipped 9 times on EUR/USD and 33 on gold in the last 24 hours, so read any single label change as noise, not a turn.
