What to watch in the US session

The US session (New York open · the afternoon drive) · updated 2026-09-22 12:00 UTC.

US Session Prep — 12:00–21:00 UTC

The dollar bid that carried Asia and London is still standing as New York comes in: USD/JPY holds its BULLISH LEANING label at 157.482, while EUR/USD (1.14691) and GBP/USD (1.33731) remain NEUTRAL — so the earlier story continues rather than reverses. The wires stay crypto-flavoured: the ECB's Pontes platform is now putting tokenised assets onto central-bank money, Binance has taken a $100m Circle stake, and Bitcoin is still up on the session, with the whole crypto complex tilted BULL across the board.

This window is heavy on talk, light on tier-one data — ADP's weekly employment change, Consumer Confidence, the Richmond Manufacturing Index and the API bulletin all sit at Low, with three Fed speakers (Williams, Jefferson, Barkin) plus President Trump on the tape. Plenty of headlines, no anchor.

What to watch: does the dollar bid hold into the US afternoon? USD/JPY's 157.28018 support is still the line — hold it and the lean has something to stand on; lose it and the H4 down structure gets a vote. Gold is the outlier, tilting BEARISH CLEAR with 4333.73 beneath and 4359.91 overhead. And with the tilt gauge flipping 10 times on EUR/USD and 15 on gold in 24 hours, treat any single label change as noise, not a turn.
