The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-23 21:00 UTC.
Good evening. The dollar bid held through New York — USD/JPY kept its BULLISH LEANING tag at 157.482, with EUR/USD (1.14691) and GBP/USD (1.33731) both still NEUTRAL — and the wires stayed crypto-flavoured: the ECB and EU central banks pushing to rewrite MiCA's stablecoin reserve rules, Tether abandoning its EU licence, and Binance's stablecoin bid heading for rejection in Greece.
Asia brings the real weight this time. Australian Employment Change and Unemployment Rate both land at High, alongside the NAB Quarterly Business Confidence read — that's the AUD's morning. The SNB's Monetary Policy Assessment and Policy Rate are also High, so the franc gets a genuine event rather than a drift. Japanese Flash Manufacturing PMI and a Bank of Japan-flavoured backdrop round out the Low tier.
What to watch: USD/JPY's 157.28018 support is still the line — hold it and the lean has something to stand on, lose it and the H4 down structure gets a vote. Note the H1 Bollinger squeeze, the tightest in 120 bars: energy is building, and a squeeze usually resolves, not fizzles. Gold stays BEARISH CLEAR, with 4333.73 beneath and 4359.91 overhead. And with the tilt gauge having flipped 6 times on USD/JPY and 4 on gold in 24 hours, treat any single label change as noise, not a turn.
