What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-27 23:20 UTC.

Good evening. The dollar's "death cross" chatter keeps the wires warm, stablecoins stay the regulatory flavour of the week, and the US closed with gold soft at 4342.88 — still tagged BEARISH CLEAR.

Asia's calendar is a light one: Japan's Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes and SPPI y/y, both low tier, meaning the yen's own session has headlines to chew on but little in the way of hard data.

The technical gauge is the thing to watch. USD/JPY holds its BULLISH LEANING tag at 157.482, with the 157.28018 support the line that matters — hold it and the lean has something to stand on. That H1 Bollinger squeeze is still the tightest in 120 bars, and squeezes tend to resolve rather than fizzle. Gold's floor at 4333.73 and ceiling at 4359.91 sit barely an ATR either side, so a quiet range is a live possibility. And with the tilt gauge having flipped repeatedly on USD/JPY and gold in the last 24 hours, treat any single label change as noise, not a turn.
