Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-04 23:20 UTC.

Good morning. The day that just ended kept two themes running: bond markets still selling off and keeping equities on edge, while crypto regulation stayed firmly in the news — stablecoin reserve rules, trust charters, and a fresh wave of EU and US proposals.

Asia's calendar is quiet and mostly second-tier: a China bank holiday, Australia's MI Inflation Gauge and ANZ Commodity Prices, Japanese Consumer Confidence, and a run of European services PMIs — Spanish, Italian, French and German finals — plus a speech from Bundesbank President Nagel. Nothing here is High-tier.

So watch the gauges rather than the data. Bitcoin's live read is NEUTRAL, D1 down, H4 mixed, H1 up, with H1 RSI at 85.4 and price 0.7 ATR under the nearest level above — pressed near the top of its recent range. Ethereum leans BULLISH, though D1 up sits against H4 down and H1 mixed, with H1 RSI 78.4. In FX, EUR/USD reads BEARISH CLEAR with H4 RSI 35.5, GBP/USD BEARISH LEANING, and USD/JPY BULLISH LEANING — all three showing mixed timeframes underneath. Gold is BEARISH CLEAR and sitting right at the nearest level below.
