Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-05 21:00 UTC.

Good morning. The day that just ended kept two themes running: a ferocious bond-market rout drawing opportunistic eyes, and a steady flow of crypto rulemaking — CFTC proposals, stablecoin manoeuvres, a Treasury mixing-rule withdrawal — as the CLARITY Act's failure reshapes the regulatory map.

This window's calendar is Asia-Pacific and Europe-flavoured, and mostly Low-tier: NZIER Business Confidence, Westpac Consumer Sentiment and ANZ Job Advertisements, a JPY 10-year bond auction, German Factory Orders, French Industrial Production and Budget Balance, and Swiss Unemployment. A Chinese bank holiday keeps that corner quiet. The one High-tier item is BOJ Governor Ueda speaking — the print most likely to move the yen's mood.

On the gauges, there's little to lean on: every symbol on the board — EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, Gold, Oil, Bitcoin and Ethereum — is showing no live read, feeds paused since 10:44 UTC. So watch Ueda's remarks, and whether the session's low-tier data starts colouring the bond and crypto narratives. If the story shifts, we'll say so once the feeds return.
