Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-12 21:02 UTC.

Good morning. The day that just ended was another oil-and-headlines affair — crude rising on Trump's Russian diesel comments even as other coverage pointed the other way, Asian equities mixed, and bank earnings and a looming CPI print keeping the macro crowd alert.

Today's picture shifts rather than repeats: EUR/USD now reads bearish clear, with D1 and H1 down against a mixed H4 and H1 RSI at 26.3 — stretched, with no level above where price turned before. USD/JPY is bullish clear, D1 and H4 up, H4 RSI 62.9, and price closer to the level above. Gold is bearish leaning and nearer the level below; Bitcoin also bearish leaning, wedged between two close levels. GBP/USD, oil and Ethereum are neutral.

The Asia calendar is busy but low-tier: BRC retail sales, Japanese bank lending and PPI, Australian minutes and NAB confidence, German final CPI, plus Greene and Waller on the mic. Watch whether the thin overnight tape amplifies moves around those nearby levels — and whether sterling or the dollar stirs when Greene or Waller speaks.
