Paxos Brings $3B USDG Stablecoin to Arbitrum - Yahoo Finance

Paxos has expanded its USDG stablecoin to the Arbitrum network, bringing roughly $3 billion in circulating supply to the Ethereum layer-2 chain. The move places a regulated, dollar-backed token onto one of the largest scaling environments in decentralized finance, where transaction costs are lower and settlement is faster than on Ethereum's base layer.

For markets, the development matters less as a price catalyst than as an infrastructure signal. Stablecoins are the settlement layer for much of crypto trading, lending, and payments, so where they live affects liquidity depth and routing. A multi-billion-dollar issuer choosing Arbitrum suggests continued competition among layer-2 networks to attract stablecoin float and the activity that follows it.

What to watch: how much of USDG's supply actually migrates or is minted on Arbitrum versus staying on Ethereum, whether decentralized exchanges and lending protocols there list it, and how rivals such as USDC and USDT respond. Adoption, not the announcement itself, will determine the lasting effect on Arbitrum's on-chain liquidity.
